After going through the queue line and given a seat number, we were let in to board.

It is an awesome ride and I hope more parks get one! There is a great breeze at the top and an awesome view of the park.

The movie soundtrack really completes the whole experience! Next, I headed over to Millennium Force to get in line for the #1 Steel Coaster in the world before the general public came rolling in.

After that, I hopped on Iron Dragon for a ride before heading back to WindSeeker!

After a half-hour wait, I was soaring in the skies again. When the ride was over, I saw Mr. Sphen checking on ride operations.

Then I headed over to Space Spiral and inside, it’s not exactly the clearest view of the park since they never seem to clean the windows.

Since I was going with the crowds instead of against, I took the train around once before taking the SkyRide back to the car for a quick snack.

Coming back into the park, I ran into Robin Innes and he remembered my Dad and I from when he took us on the winter tour. We stopped to chat for a minute before I was again on my way to Power Tower, red side. Next, I went on Super Himalaya. I then headed over to Paddlewheel Excursions to take a relaxing boat ride sponsored by Doritos.

It was then time for Grand Ole County. It’s nothing special. It’s worse this year then it was last year, which it wasn’t too good last year either.

Dinner time rolled around and I was treated to a Cedar Point company picnic dinner because my Dad works at Smucker’s.

They had hot dogs, baked beans, fresh fruit, fried chicken, Toft’s ice cream and unlimited Pepsi soft drinks! It was all delicious!

After dinner, I went over to the Jack Aldrich Theatre to see Rockin’ the Point. It was a much better then Rock Band, Live!.

Then I headed over to Ocean Motion. I really love the new location and themeing, but I hate how they assign you a row and the make you merge into one group to go onto the ride. Next I rode Troika before heading over to WindSeeker for the 3rd ride of the day.

I then headed over to the Corkscrew where it broke down as I reached the station. But instead of just standing there, one of the crew members, who I later found out I was already Facebook friends with, started up a game of Cedar Point Trivia.

My sister, Dad, and I were getting all of the hard one’s while the few others playing with us were getting the general knowledge questions. We eventually left after the ride never reopened. I then headed over to Magnum XL-200. Next I headed over to Frontier Town and the Town Hall Museum waiting for the Starlight Experience to open. When it finally did and I went through to find it not as “magical” as the first year, but there are defiantly improvements. As closing time was rolling around I got ready to head home. I stopped by WindSeeker on the way out for a few pictures and videos of WindSeeker’s amazing light show.

That was it for another great Cedar Point trip!

After a night of little sleep, I was off to the park for another day of fun! It started with us first heading down for ERT in Splashin’ Safari. We were greeted with fresh fruit, muffins, and other breakfast goodies. After grabbing some strawberries and a muffin, it was time to ride Wildebeest. It a really fun ride, I wish more water parks would get one. (I’m looking at you Cedar Fair.)

I then had to go back to the lockers for my camera. I found this out later, but we weren’t supposed to go back to the lockers. Oops, but Dan Koch walked by me on my way back and didn’t say anything, so I guess it was OK and I will know for the future. After that, I headed back up to the Wildebeest for my first photo walkback. We were free to walk along the sidewalk, inside a tunnel, and up to the crow’s nest.

I got a lot of great pictures. When I was done, I met up with my dad and we went on ZOOMbaba twice and Zinga once. We then headed back to Wildebeest for a few more rides before the general public literally came pouring in.

With the lines growing, we took a relaxing ride around the Bahari River. To finish off the water park, I took a ride on Jungle Racers.

Since we were all wet, we grabbed a shirt and headed off into the park in search of water rides. First was Frightful Falls. It was a nice to be back on an actual log flume when my last log flume was at Kennywood back in 2005.

It was fast paced and had a fun final drop.

Next was Raging Rapids, not exactly Thunder Canyon, but I loved the western town themeing!

Finally, we rode Shoot the Rapids’s sister ride Pilgrims Plunge.

It really was nothing compared to Shoot the Rapids, just a quick ride to the lift and then the drop. No two hills, a misty tunnel, or a waterfall canyon.

We then went back to our locker to empty it out before heading to the car to change back into dry clothes. As seems to be the trend, all that water made us hungry.

Being short on time we settled for Kringle’s Cafe and some famous Holiday World pizza. It lived up to the little hype I’ve heard about it.

Of course I was expecting a little more to the breadsticks. I thought they would have a garlic taste, but instead they just tasted like dough. After lunch, I was heading out to the car for my video camera when I ran into my friend, Jeff Guilkey. We talked for a few minute, but I needed to get the camera before the walkback. When I got back he introduced me to Ted Adams and I introduced them to my dad. Shortly after that, the walkback began.

It gives you some really close-up views of The Raven and The Legend. To get all of the shots in the little time we were allowed back there, I took the pictures and my Dad took the videos.

I was really surprised by how there was no “restricted area” fences and signs around the coaster. Holiday World is really trusting of their visitors.

After the walkback, I was drenched in sweat, so I grabbed a free drink and went over to the Hoosier Celebration Theatre because Real Country was going to start soon. I was expecting the show to be like a small amusement production. Especially after seeing Cedar Point’s shows over the year, I wasn’t expecting much. After watching just a few minutes, I was blown away at how good it was! It had great performers, upbeat song selection, and audience interaction.

I was sad to leave before it ended for The Voyage walkback, which was another great opportunity to take pictures that the general public can’t.

We were allowed to walk down the whole road up to the 90° turn at the far end. After I had taken a ton of I pictures, my dad and I started to walk back with Ted and talk about coasters.

With sunset approaching, we headed off into the 4th of July to ride all if the rides we missed. First we went to Holidog’s Fun Town for the Howler credit.

Fun little coaster and we got double rides!

Next was my first round-up ride on Revolution. Ouch, way too much pressure on my feet.

Next, I picked a gentler ride, Eagle’s Flight. A really fun ride, but lacks the capacity needed on busier days.

Moving on to the bigger rides, we went on Liberty Launch.

For a small version of Power Tower, it really packs punch. Tons of air when it hits the top!Moving down the midway, we found the Lewis & Clark Trail.

It was fun and amazing that 5+ person crew at Cedar Point was replaced by one at Holiday World.

Although, the ride was nothing special, CP has better tracks for their cars, longer rides. After getting off of the ride, I heard the Vinyl Daze had started, so we raced over to catch another great Holiday World show. The performers are great even in the super humid weather.

After the show, we headed down to Splashin’ Safari to empty our locker since they had just closed.
We then made our way back up to the 4th of July and Christmas to do some shopping.

Since The Raven was nearby, we got in line for a ride where we found some other HoliWood Nighters and struck up a little coaster talk.

After flying through the woods, it was time to get a t-shirt as the park was closing soon. We made our purchases and I stayed down in Thanksgiving to take pictures of Pilgrims Plunge and The Voyage.

I then headed up to Halloween and rode the HallowSwings where someone asked me what was up with a lot of people in the park wearing E.R.T. shirts and name tags. I told her it was for HoliWood Nights and she thought it was really cool how many perks we got, I still think its awesome how many perks we got too!

I then met up with my Dad and we headed over to the Good Old Days Picnic Grove. We were treated to a delicious buffet dinner of hamburgers, fried chicken, fruit, veggies, Mac & Cheese, cookies, brownies, and of course free soft drinks.

The Beachcombers band was there playing for us and they sounded really good! There was silent auction. I placed a bid on a few things, but didn’t win. After, Mrs. Koch and Dan Koch came out and auctioned off ride time with him and Leah. Then they brought out the very first Pat Koch bobble head to be auctioned off. If I remember right, it went for over $100.

After that, we were set free into the park. My Dad wanted to drop some stuff off at the car so I went to Halloween to take pictures. Just then I ran out of storage space, so I had to run out to the car to get my other car, which I ended up having with me the whole time. Going back into the park, we went on The Raven and The Legend a few times before walking over to Thanksgiving.

I had a bit too much to eat and since I didn’t want to repeat the events of the night before, I decided to sit it out. As 10:oo pm rolled around, the Scarecrow Scrambler was open, so we took it for a ride and that had a really long cycle, almost too long since I wasn’t feeling too good to begin with.

Before leaving we got one more ride on The Legend and The Raven before calling it a night.

On the way out we were given Recesses Pieces because it had a tie in to E.T. (E.R.T).

I had an AWESOME weekend at Holiday World and I can’t wait of go back again next year!

After a few minutes, The Voyage popped up along with Pilgrims Plunge.

We headed into The Legend Lot to park and found it eerie quit.  There were only a few people still around getting in their cars.  They must have thought we were crazy for pulling into the parking lot and getting out with our park stuff.  We headed up to the group sales where we got our HoliWood Nights tickets and shirts.

We had to wait about 10 minutes while they cleared out the park before we could go in for the night.

After making it in, I grabbed map and we headed in blindly to find some coasters.  The Raven, which I had heard about since I was a little kid thanks to PBS, wasn’t open yet and The Legend broke down as we got into the station.  After finding the long path down to Thanksgiving, we got on The Voyage and we were both in for a surprise.  The ride was fast, crazy, and out of control.  Nothing could have ever prepared me for that!

I had talked with Holiday World’s twitter a few days before my trip and they said my camera clip-on cases that I use to store my camera wouldn’t be allowed on the ride, so I after asking some friends what they did when they visited, I put my camera in my pocket to hide it and hooked the strap to a clip.  I had completely forgotten about losing my phone.  I usually hold on to it while ridding, but The Voyage was so out of control, I completely forgot about it.  This means it happened for the first time, I “lost” something to a coaster, in a way.  I got off the ride and was walking down the exit ramp doing my pocket check when I realized that my phone was missing.  I ran up and told the ride op that I lost my phone and in what car I was sitting.  The girl looked along with the guy who was sitting there.  After a quick search nothing was found, but just as all hope was lost, the guy held up the phone.  He found it!  Thank you whoever you are if you’re reading this!

So after all of that, I wasn’t feeling too well after having my Wendy’s dinner being shook up.  So I took what I thought would be a nice gentle ride on Turkey Twirl.  I was wrong!  The combination of Holiday World’s long ride cycles and the spinning, it felt like I was going to throw up.  After the ride finally stopped, I went to get a free drink to help settle my stomach.

Then it was on to The Legend, another great coaster and my personal favorite at Holiday World.  The wolf howl at the top and the smell of campfires in the woods makes for awesome themeing!  It was then finally time for The Raven.

Another awesome coaster!  After the drop into the woods, you can’t see a thing and you’re just flying! After The Raven we headed up to the Kringle Kafé to see what kind of food they had.  The pizza and fudge looked delicious, but I still wasn’t feeling the best and there were coasters to be ridden.   After a few more rides on The Raven and The Legend, the HollowSwings had opened, so I hoped on for a spin.

Andy, who was also operating Turkey Twirl, is one of the best amusement park employees ever.  He was super friendly and seemed to love his job.  I then found myself heading back down to Thanksgiving to give The Voyage another try, but guess who I ran into first.  The one and only Mrs. Koch!

I got a picture with her before braving the rough waters ahead.  That ride wasn’t any better than the first.  Oh well, the free cupcake made up for it!

I headed back to Halloween for another ride on The Legend and The Raven before coming back to the HollowSwings for another ride.  Andy let us go three times before finally closing the ride for the night.  To finish off my amazing evening, I took one more ride on The Legend.

What’s even better is that in order to fit in a Kings Island stop, I would get to miss school for the day!

As soon as my Dad and I got there, we headed straight to the Diamondback, but got side tracked by a walk-on Boo Blasters on Boo Hill.

This was my first ever shooting dark ride and they are really fun.  It’s now on my Cedar Point wish list for stuff they need to get.  After that, we headed over to the Diamondback and found a short half hour wait.

Once in the station, we headed to the 2nd row, which gives you all of the thrills of the front row without the front row wait.  After my ride, I have to say that it was one awesome coaster for my first B&M hyper!  Tons of airtime!  You just fly over the hills and the splashdown ending is great!

Next up was another first for me, a giant top spin in a box.  Yep, it was time for The Crypt.

I thought it was an amazing ride and it had great themeing, of course I’ve heard it was better at one point, but I still loved it!  Then we headed over to check on the progress of Kings Island’s WindSeeker.

It looked like it was having the same problems as Cedar Point’s WindSeeker.

We then headed over to The Racer to find only one side running, red, and of course I needed the blue credit.

Oh well, I’ll get it another day.  The Racer was great and had lots of airtime.  Since it was nearby, we went on Adventure Express too. That ride is definitely faster than Cedar Point’s Mine Ride.  Next was a quick spin on Dodgem.

I’m not a big fan of bumper cars in the first place and the weird seat belt didn’t help me like this one anymore.

Walking down the Coney Mall, we stopped at Shake, Rattle, & Roll where my Dad got paired up with a junior coaster enthusiast whose home park is Coney Island (the one in Ohio).

There was also a very friendly employee giving everyone high fives.  (This was just a sample for what was coming later on this road trip.)  We then walked over to Backlot Stunt Coaster and found a short wait.

To finish up the trip, we rode The Beast and I thought that it was a horribly rough ride.

I do not know why people say Mean Streak is so bad when The Beast is just as bad.

After an amazing ride on the Force, I headed over to Mantis, which I now regret because it hurts way too much in too many places.

On the way out to the car to change into a swimsuit, I stopped for a ride on the Magnum, which also hurt.  I guess it depends on which seat in.  After a quick change in the car, I headed over to Shoot the Rapids where I got in 5 rides with very little wait.

It looks like all of its problems have been fixed.  They even added mist to the top of the 2nd hill.

I then headed to the car for lunch. After lunch I went over to the Gemini games determined to win a Minion.  After beating a girl in the first round to win a cheap bear, I then played against myself to finally win a Minion!

After that I headed down the boardwalk to check on WindSeeker.

Then I rode Troika and Ocean Motion.

Moving on, I took the SkyRide over to the Frontier Trail so I could see Grand Ole Country.  It’s exactly the same show as last year and the cast seems worse.  I’m sure it will grow on me, but I never really liked the show anyway.  Next up was Tropical Heat, Island Beat.  It was great as usual!  When I was leaving the Garter, I saw dark clouds and heard thunder.

So I joined the crowd of people heading out to their cars, but of course I pulled out my video camera and filmed the whole thing.  So that was how my day ended.

After the ribbon was cut I headed to Millennium Force where I saw my friend Stefan waiting in line to be on the first train of the season. After a short wait, I was on the ride.

It was awesome and the new paint looks great. I then walked down the Frontier Trail and took a fly on SkyHawk. After that I headed over to take the Antique Cars for a spin.

You could tell that it was the first day because I had my camera in my hand and the guy told me no cameras on the ride, haha who doesn’t take their camera out while riding a car ride. Then I walked down to Magnum XL-200. It felt a whole lot smoother this year.

Now it was finally time to see the star attraction: WindSeeker.

It’s sort of ironic that the “star” attraction is a WindSeeker instead of a StarFlyer. Well WindSeeker looked amazing and I can’t wait to ride it! I also saw Dick Kinzel over there where I got a picture with him and he said the ride would be open by Memorial Day weekend.

After that I took a trip to Alaska in complete darkness. I guess Cedar Point has officially given up on the themeing of that ride.

Afterwards, I headed over to Pink’s for the Grand Opening.

Mrs. Kinzel made an appearance, first time I’ve ever seen her. Also the Pink family was there to cut the ribbon along with the Kinzel’s.

Next was a look at the reconstruction of Ocean Motion.

It looked really nice with the pond, but it could use a few more trees. It was then time for lunch at the car. After eating, I headed back in to Donut Time to try out the free computes they had there. They’re nice for what they do, but they’re super locked down and you would need to be a pro hacker to do anything.

As 2pm rolled around, it was time for the first annual CP Guide meet-up at WindSeeker. I got to meet John Fite and his amazing family!

I’ve known him through flickr and it was finally nice to meet him in person. After that I did a little shopping where I saw an employee who looked exactly like my friend @sethdawg17! It was then time for the Point Online meet-up, but the WindSeeker area had become very crowded and since I didn’t know who anyone was, I moved on. I took the train over to Frontier Town where I rode Mean Streak.

The retracking of the first curve really helped and the ride is now a little more enjoyable.

Next up was a Paddlewheel ride with jokes so cheesy and corny that they’re brought to you by Doritos! I then walked down the Dragster midway to Tropical Heat, Island Beat. The show is still great and the even snuck in a few new songs.

To finish up the day, I headed over to Pink’s where I got pictures with the Pink family!

Then I took a bunch of pictures of Ocean Motion before calling it a day.

In conclusion, I had an amazing time on opening day and I can’t wait for a great season!

For my first trip of the year, I had the opportunity to visit the park in the winter off-season. Mr. Innes was very nice and agreed to take myself and a few select CP Guide members on a tour of the main midway, wicked twister midway, and a small part of the wildcat midway.

To start we walked through the Hotel Breaker’s parking lot and saw the roller coaster cars awaiting a winter check-up.

Then we moved on to the WindSeeker construction site.  They had just poured the foundation the Friday before and they were working on setting up the concert mold for the ride base.

The concert they used was special concrete that need to be done in one pour, the reason behind the giant concert pour.  The foundation is 60ft by 60ft and the ride will go down 6ft.

The ride is currently scheduled to open on opening day, but so was Shoot the Rapids, so we will have to see.

Moving down the midway, we find Chaos, or the spot Chaos used to occupy.  Chaos is undergoing its off-season maintenance, but it doesn’t sound like it’s coming back.

Troika, like Chaos has been taken apart for its off-season maintenance, the rumor circulating is the Troika will go to Chaos’ spot and open up space for Disaster Transport to be replaced with a new coaster. Of course, this is just a rumor, and I don’t have any real facts to support it.

Throughout the park many rides have been shrink-wrapped; maXair is one of them as well as the test seat.

On the main midway, the games are all closed up as expected and Raptor was hibernating until May.

Ocean Motion, on the other hand, will be getting a new home at the old Demon Drop location and it will be complemented with a pond when it opens in May. In the Blue Streak area, we find Calypso taken apart for its maintenance.

Boo Hill has been reverted to its normal season look and the Blue Streak was nicely covered with snow.

Moving onto the Wildcat Midway, we find that Dodgems has been enclosed so the floor doesn’t get ruined and Wildcat’s queue ramps have been taken apart for easy access to the track for car removal.

Many of the fences around the park have also been removed for easier access to the rides.

The train cars for the CP and LE Railroad are at different parts of the track: one set back in Frontier Town and one is parked by the Mantis.

Moving on to Millennium Force, we find two cars left on the midway.  Of course we all went crazy taking pictures of it and the brand new wheels.

Ending the tour, we walked back down the Wildcat midway and by Scrambler and Matterhorn.

We passed Kinzel’s Castel and through the parking lot of coaster cars.

On the way out I took some pictures of Mean Streak’s off-season track work and some views of the park from the road.

To finish the day I took a picture of me in front of the “Welcome to Cedar Point” sign.

So, while my parents went to see A Halloween Hullabaloo, I went around with my sister taking pictures for class.

While taking pictures, I found that Chaos was closed, as it had been for many weeks prior.

After the show was over, I re-met with my parents in time for the Monster Midway Invasion Celebration Parade.

Then I ran over to the Eerie Estate and got inline before a massive line formed. After that, I headed down the Frontier Trail, and guess what the only walk-on ride in the park was? Why Shoot the Rapids of course.

It was a warmish 60° day so I rolled up my pants, and hopped on. All of the water effects were off and I managed to only get a few water spots on my pants.

I was already in Frontier Town, so I finished up my roll of film over at Mean Streak and headed to the car to put away my camera and get ready for a frightful evening.

It all started with the Overlord, as usual. Then it was onto Fear Faire and then the Fright Zone, which was so crowded that you could hardly walk through the tunnel, luckily, so of the “higher ups” at Cedar Point took over and directed traffic to the best of their ability and moved the crowd to the blacksmith path after exiting the tunnel.

I then finished off the night with CarnEVIL and put a close on the 2010 season.

I then stuck around to watch the Screamsters come out of the Ballroom and get ready for the Overlord precession.

After, I followed the Fright Zone Screamsters to the Frontier Trail where I did some checking on Shoot the Rapids.

It still looked closed, but there was nothing in the sign to suggest an early season closing. Once 8PM came around, I headed over to CornStalkers where I waited about a ½ hour.

After CornStalkers, I ran into some friends from school and they were spending the evening there too since there wasn’t a high school football game that week. We were all going to go through CarnEVIL, but they all chickened out.

Then I went through Terror Island twice and every time I go through with my video camera, I always get “picked on” so to say; they all want to be stars of the camera. Back tracking, I went through the Fright Zone again on my way to see the Halloween Hullabaloo.

After the show I went though G.A. Bockling’s Eerie Estate and then Happy Jack’s Toy Factory. To finish the night, I went through Fear Faire.

I said hi, took a picture with him to add to my staff pictures collection, and talked for a bit. He said that he started working in 1969 on the Frontier Lift. Once in the park, I rode the Blue Streak and then headed over to see The Overlord, but ran into the procession of Screamsters along the way.

Then it was on to the Fright Zone and to check on Shoot the Rapids and found a sign that said “Shoot the Rapids is currently closed due to weather conditions”.

I’m guessing just like everyone else that it was closed for the season and the sign was just a cover up. Moving on, I went through CarnEVIL, Terror Island twice, and Fear Faire.

Then I did Club Blood and Happy Jack’s and got done right around park closing, calling it a night.

Wonderful as always, but I see the reason Cedar Point only has this once a year. It’s a lot of work to control the crowd. Most of the people come to Cedar Point to ride the baggiest rides around, not stop and watch a parade. Thus they are inconvenienced by it going down some of Cedar Point’s smallest, and most crowded, midways. Next up was Happy Jack’s Toy Factory.

I got in line about a half hour before opening and was in one of the first groups to go in. TIP: Get there early and a half hour will be the shortest wait of the day/night. Basically, it was the same as last year with no new surprises. Then I took some time to do a little shopping before Carnival: A Sideshow of Magic began.

My opinion of this show: it sucked just like Rock Band, and it even used the exact same set and TV screens. Cedar Point really needs to get Chris Linn back. My theory is that they went way over budget with Rock Band and needed a cheap show to fill the Halloweekends gap. After the show I headed back to the car to eat dinner before The Overlord!

Then it was to the Fright Zone for opening, but first I had to check on my rapids. The water effects were on, but the ride had already closed for the Fright Zone.

After opening, I headed to the Garter for The Edge of Madness: Still Crazy.

That is a good show and much improved from last year! Then it was back through the Fright Zone and I headed back to Mean Streak, which had closed already for off-season maintenance.

I got stopped at the train crossing where the worker probably thought I was crazy for two reasons: One was for waving at the train as it went back, required by workers, but not by guests and not many do it on their own. The second was going to take pictures of the sign and new smoking area. But, oh well, that’s the way I am. ;D After a little more shopping, I headed over to CarnEVIL and Terror Island before calling it a night.

It’s basically the same performance, but I’m wondering if someone else is in the Overlord custom this year as his hand motions are not the same.

Anyway, next I went to Dr. D. Mented’s Asylum for the Criminally Insane. Being new this year I figured that it would have a long line, which it kind of did and I ended up waiting a half-hour.

Next I walked over to CarnEVIL and Terror Island and all I can say is that the Terror Island Screamsters love being on videos. They kept coming up to me and made sure that they were in my video. After getting scared, not really, it was time for a real terror Magnum XL-200 and Top Thrill Dragster, both with short lines.

Then seeing that G.A. Bockling’s Eerie Estate had a short line, I decided to wait it out and go through. After that, I headed over to the Blue Streak and The Magical House on Boo Hill. I really don’t see how that can be so enjoyable for little kids. In my opinion, at least add some friendly Halloween characters throughout the house. Next was Raptor and then through Fear Faire. I then rode front row on Iron Dragon, I was very close to riding in my own train, but a few more people came before it left.

Then it was onto the Fright Zone and CornStalkers.

I quickly headed back to the Wave Swinger to ride in the fog, which isn’t as much fun as it looks.

To finish the night, I went with the last group, no wait, through Dr. D’s Asylum.

Before getting off the ride, the train came into the station, but didn’t make it completely in and we couldn’t get off for about 5 minutes.  Then it was on to ride Disaster Transport and guess what!?!?!  The lighting effects were actually working!  I guess Cedar Point decided that with WindSeeker coming into the area that they would do a bit of repairs on the rides in the area.  Next up was Wicked Twister, Chaos, and Ocean Motion.  In case you haven’t heard, is leaving next year* and is currently for sale to make room for WindSeeker.

Then it was onto the Scrambler and a first for me: Matterhorn.

They were both lots of fun!  Being almost 6PM, it was time to head over to the Garter for Tropical Heat, Island Beat.  Instead of a movie, I took plenty of photos of the show.

There was also a cast change with Sarah Chybrzynski leaving and another girl, who I don’t her name, took her place.  After the show, I took a ride on Millennium Force and Terror Island looked almost ready to open for the season.  I then walked down the Frontier Trail to find Shoot the Rapids, you guessed it, broken down!

Next was Maverick and no matter how empty the park is, this ride always has a line.  I waited only about 30 minutes for my second ride of the season.

Next up was Wave Swinger and this ride is going to seem like a kiddy ride next year after 301ft WindSeeker opens up.  To finish off the night, I rode Gemini and Top Thrill Dragster.

Before the celebration began I got to ride Raptor, Millennium Force, and Iron Dragon.  The ceremony began and Dick Kinzel (Cedar Fair CEO), John Hildebrandt (General Manager), and Bryan Edwards all talked during the ceremony.

Also Tony Clark was there taking a movie for Cedar Point’s YouTube.

They gave out free cookies during the ceremony like with Snoopy’s Birthday.

After it was all over, I asked to take a picture with Dick Kinzel and of course he said yes.  Then I headed to the back of the park to ride the Antique Cars.  After exiting the ride, I got a tweet about the next 5 people to show it at Millennium Force’s entrance wins a prize.  So I ran all the way from the back of the park to the entrance of Millennium and Tony was there and he gave me a bag filled with Millennium Force things after seeing the tweet.  If you’re wondering, inside was a Millennium Force picture frame, keychain, 2 postcards, and a snow globe.  Thanks Cedar Point and Tony, I hope they do a twitter contest again!

That was it for the day because it started to look like rain.

I just going to put this out here now, I’m a color and shade person.  I don’t care who small Geauga Lake’s Wildwater Kingdom it is still my favorite water park because it has shade from trees and manmade structures as well as colored slides.

Also the fact that Cedar Point surrounds it and Magnum cuts through makes you think the entire time you’re waiting in line that you could be over there having fun on walk-on rides.

Anyway, the first thing I went on was Zoom Flume and it wasn’t the best experience of my life because it’s so violent it throws you around, I bonked heads with my sister a few time, which hurt, and it feels like you’re about to go over the side.  I ended up going on it twice and it was OK.

Next up was Eerie Falls and I went on all three, but on the second slide I went on, ended up flipping over at the end.  I wasn’t expecting that at all and water went up my nose and I wasn’t a happy camper. After that I went on Renegade River, which is Soak City’s element filled “lazy river”.

After going on that I have just one thing to say: “Why isn’t the water heated like Wildwater Kingdom?” It was freezing in there, although it might feel good later on in the afternoon, first thing in the morning, it doesn’t.

I then went on all of the other tube slide; I prefer to skip the body slides because unlike modern slides, you empty out into a pool of water which looks like it all goes up your nose.  Again, not fun!  To finish off the morning I went into the Wave Pool and took some action and geek pictures of the Magnum.

Part II of the day started after lunch at the car.  I headed into Cedar Point, still wearing my swimsuit; I bet you can guess why!  Snoopy’s 60^th Birthday celebration was going to be held that day and of course I had to go!

Everyone fan-related to the point was also there because we all thought it was going to be an announcement for “New for 2011″ but we were all disappointed when Snoopy opened his present and it turned out to be cookies.

After the celebration, I headed over to the Main Midway to try out the splash fountain that I’ve been waiting for ever to try.  Well, it’s not as fun as it looks.  If you want to get wet you’re better off going on Shoot the Rapids, which I did after taking the train over to Frontier Town.  I went on it once before it broke down, then I went on Thunder Canyon and Snake River Falls before going back to ride Shoot the Rapids one more time before calling it a day.

After that I met up with my dad and sister and we took the train over to the Main Midway where we found Millennium Force with a very full queue line and moved on.  We took the train fully around again and then got off and took the Skyride to the other end of the midway and then rode Chaos and Ocean Motion.

I also took pictures of the many construction markings in the area.

I then exited to the Beach and walked the boardwalk to the Hotel Breakers and took my very first peek inside.  It’s very cool in there and if it wasn’t so expensive I might look into staying the night.

It was then time for lunch at the car.  After lunch I headed to Paddlewheel Excursions for a ride and to take my yearly video of the ride.  After that I headed over to Frontier Town to see Grand Ole Country which is an OK show, but nothing special once you have seen Tropical Heat, Island Beat.  The audience just seems more into Tropical-Beat then just sitting there at Grand-Country.

There is about a half-hour delay in between shows, so I took this time to stroll through the Town Hall Museum and check on how Shoot the Rapids was doing, still down if you’re wondering.

After Tropical Heat, Island Beat, I headed to the car for a quick snack and then took the longer way around the point by going to Frontier Town to catch the train so I could check on Shoot the Rapids.  I was finally open and I met up with my dad and sister and headed over to get in about two rides before it broke down AGAIN!  After that I was done with rides for the day because my parents went all crazy about the Snoopy Scavenger hunt and we all ended up going back and forth between all three kids areas.

My day at the point then ended and on the way home we stopped at Costa Azul for dinner.  The food there is OK, but I have defiantly had better at my local Mariachi Coco’s.

I went to see Grand Ole Country and then took a rough ride on Mean Streak.  I then took the train over to Tropical Heat, Island Beat at the Red Garter Saloon where they finally switched the old chairs and replaced them with new ones.  After the show it started raining so I hopped back on the train and stayed on for about an hour and a half while it poured.

When it finally slowed down, I made a run for the car by using overhangs and shops to stay dry along the way.

By the time I made it to the gate it had stopped raining and a few rides started testing and running for the few still in the park.  I was too wet by that point to stay so I headed home and I heard that there were very few people who ended up going to the Maverick ride night.

I then walked down the Frontier Trail to find, I bet you can guess, Shoot the Rapids down! Please fix the problems Cedar Point! Anyway, that didn’t matter to me as I couldn’t ride anyway.

I then headed to the car to leave the park, yep, I was there for about three hours just to leave. Haha, not really, I left to go have a quick dinner at Wendy’s before heading back to the point 10 minutes before Hot Summer Lights started. That’s the difference between Six Flags and Cedar Fair, at Cedar Fair you can re-enter all the way up to 9:59pm while at Six Flags you can’t re-enter after 7pm. Really, how is that more fun than the fun and only?

Anyway, after Hot Summer Lights, I went to take tons of pictures of the Starlight Experience after most of the guests cleared out.

After that, I headed back to the car to call it a night.

While ridding the Force, I noticed that Shoot the Rapids had opened at 10am instead of 11am like the other water rides.  So I took the Skyride back to the car and changed into my swimsuit.

My first ride ever on Shoot the Rapids was AMAZING!

I even got to ride in my own boat!  I then took three more rides on it that day! Being a single rider has its perks!  I also managed to waste about $5 on the water cannons!

After my 3rd ride, it broke down so I headed back to the car for lunch.  After lunch I decided to try out Challenge Park’s go-karts.  I got my temps last winter and had my proof that I was 16 so I could go on the “big kids” track.

After that I headed back into the park to ride Shoot the Rapids again.  I got to ride three more times before it was time to change into dry clothes for Grand Ole Country.  After the show, I hopped onto the train to go and see Tropical Heat, Island Beat at the Garter.  I then rode Iron Dragon and Top Thrill Dragster before trying something new: Power Tower.

In my two years of going I had never been on it at all.  The end result is: I like the shot side better than the drop side.  It’s quicker and has more of a thrill then the suspense of waiting at the top.  I ended up riding both the drop and the shot two times each.

I then finished up my day by riding the Magnum and then going out to dinner at Costa Azul.

I first started my trip off with a quick dinner at waaaay better Wendy’s.  Then I headed to the park to catch the last show of Tropical Heat, Island Beat.   Then I headed down the Frontier Trail to check on Shoot the Rapids, which was still closed, but ended up opening the next day.

It had been almost a month since the ride was planned to open, so everyone who wanted to ride, including me, was hoping that it would open very soon.

Also, they finished stocking the gift shop, plus employee ride night the night before spelled an opening within the coming days.  Next, I moved onto the CP & LE Railroad to take me to the front of the park so I could ride Blue Streak and Raptor.

I then hopped onto the Skyride and then made it onto one of the last Iron Dragon trains of the night.

I then headed to see the Starlight Experience.  After that I did a little shopping in Frontier Town and then caught the last ride of the night on Paddlewheel Excursions.  After that is was time for the ride night to begin.

I got in two laps on the Magnum and then headed over to Top Thrill Dragster to find that it was down and there were still general public riders waiting to ride.  So I called it a night and went on a walking loop of the point.  I managed to take some pictures of the Starlight Experience before it was shut off for the night.

I then headed to the bathroom. (I normally don’t post that in my trip reports, but this time in plays into the story.)  After coming out of the bathroom, I spotted people running back towards the Maverick, so I followed and it turned out that Cedar Point opened Maverick because Top Thrill Dragster was down.  So I got one no wait ride in on the Maverick before officially calling it a night.
